Since February 2021, journalist Patrick Poivre d’Arvor has been at the heart of a dark case of sexual assault. Targeted by testimonies from around thirty women who accuse him of having had problematic behavior ranging from harassment to rape, the former TF1 television news host denies the facts with which he has been accused since day one and if he is obviously presumed innocent, several of his former colleagues have already sided with the alleged victims of PPDA.
The proof, questioned by our colleagues from Figaro this Friday, January 27, 2023, Thomas Hugues, the former joker of Patrick Poivre d’Arvor on the 8 p.m. news of TF1, let it be known that he was not giving the floor to the women who accuse PPDA in question: “I believe, without a shadow of a doubt, the women who testify against him. I know and have worked with some of them and I believe them.” declared the journalist to our colleagues.
However, the latter made a point of specifying that during his passage to the drafting of the JT of TF1, he had never witnessed a strange scene: “In 15 years spent at TF1, no one has ever come to see me and told me that creepy things were happening in the PPDA office. We all knew he was a seducer, even if there are more vulgar words to describe his behavior”added the 56-year-old journalist.
A disappearance on Twitter
A little over a month before this interview for Le Figaro, on December 27, 2022, Thomas Hugues had already attracted the attention of the media. And for good reason, the father of the family had posted a more than worrying message via his Twitter account: “Come on my decision is made. Goodbye Twitter… too much wasted time, too many fascists on all sides, long live the apps of newspapers and magazines. See you later friends !”he had tweeted before completely disappearing from the social network…
