A 78-year-old incorrigible sex offender, who was convicted in 1973 and 1994 of sexual acts against children, returns once again to prison after having in his possession child pornography material.
The analysis of the information on the cell phone of Bertin Daigle, who had been arrested in July 2021 with in his possession material of child pornography on his mobile device, had not led to the discovery of many explicit images. Indeed, 14 illegal computer files had finally been found in his cell phone.
However, the man was not at his first arrest for criminal acts of a sexual nature on minors. The Quebec man was first arrested nearly 45 years ago in the 1970s for a crime of a sexual nature against a child.
Subsequently, in 1994, Daigle was again arrested and sentenced to 18 months in prison for sexually touching and inciting sexual touching of a person who was under the age of 16.
Now, at the age of 78, the man admitted his guilt for having had in his possession child pornography. Even if a small number of illegal files were found in his cell phone, Daigle is exposed to the minimum sentence of six months in detention.
