Already at the dawn of another year

The year 2023 was marked by numerous conflicts around the world without forgetting those at home, in Quebec. The deaths of several of my friends and journalist colleagues have caused me a lot of grief, including that of Jean-Paul Chartrand Sr. who passed away recently. The first time I met him, he was a journalist and he also worked for the City of Montreal, where he helped people in need. His laugh, his smile and our discussions at his barber Ménick allowed me to understand that sport is entertainment that people need in their lives. Thank you JP for guiding me in my career.

The year 2024 is knocking on the door. Denis Savard, the Hall of Famer who won the Stanley Cup with the Canadiens, will celebrate the New Year with his daughter, Tanya, who is a creative producer at Gold Leaf Films, and his wife, Mona, in Florida .

Sylvain Truchon, who proudly wears his Gary Carter sweater, works at Bombardier in Florida. Unlike those around him, Richard Papineau, Nicole Desjardins, Pierre Roy and Pascale Vallée who will celebrate the New Year in Florida, Stéphane returned to Quebec to celebrate the new year with his family.

Céline Landry and Martin Tremblay will welcome many Quebecers on New Year’s Eve at the famous Frenchies restaurant-bar in Florida.

Former Canadian head coach Michel Therrien and his wife, Josée Tremblay, took advantage of the Florida sun.

My golf partner from Val-d’Or, Yvon Gareau, is an exemplary golfer who knew how to find a way to excel at golf. His golfing friends in Florida can confirm that his cash winnings against them will allow him to spend a few days in Panama at their expense.

Yannick Girard and Marie-Claude Messier are with their children, Juliane Girard and Léanie Girard, in Florida.

Solange Rouleau and Guy Boisclair were with Renaud Lavoie and his daughter, Noémie, just before the Canadian’s game in Florida.
