Alpine runs on Hydrogen

The Italian brand, which is part of the Stellantis group, has unveiled the Grecale. This is a new SUV, one of the versions of which will be 100% electric. And it will be called Grecale Folgore. It means lightning in Italian. The electric Grecale will be launched in 2023 with a 105 kWh battery using 400-volt technology. There are at this stage few details regarding this model. On the other hand, the Grecale will be launched in three versions, hybrid and petrol at start with powers from 300 to 530 hp. In its most muscular version, with a 3-litre twin-turbo V6, the Maserati SUV will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and can reach a top speed of 285 km/h. And then still in the electric, the brand promises for a little later an electric GranTurismo of 1,200 horsepower, with 0 to 100 km / h in 2 seconds and a top speed of 300 km / h.

We stay in Italy and in the sports SUV with the future Ferrari model…

The prancing horse brand has unveiled on social networks a photo of the front of this future model, called Purosangue. Thoroughbred in French. And it’s a blood red SUV that we can glimpse, especially on Facebook. For purists, this may be sacrilege. But after all, in the wake of Porsche which released the Cayenne twenty years ago, we could then see the Bentley Bentayga, Maserati Levante, Lamborghini Urus, Rolls-Royce Cullinan and other Aston Martin DBXs arrive. So Ferrari will come there too. Production will start this summer, with first deliveries in early 2023.

We come back to the hydrogen-powered Alpine.

This is just a concept, made by students from a design school in Milan, Italy. They are 28 to have worked on this concept, baptized A4810. The challenge was to design a super car in zero emission mode. The project was carried out with the support of Alpine, the Renault group brand. The result is very spectacular, with a car whose line is reminiscent of a McLaren. The car is therefore supposed to run on hydrogen. But neither Alpine nor the school provide technical details. We understood it, it was just a design project. There was no desire to develop behind a sports car to expand the range. Alpine is in any case satisfied with the result and will be able to draw on this pool of young talent. Note in passing that the name of the hydrogen supercar owes nothing to chance. The number 4810 corresponds to the height of Mont-Blanc, which is the link between France and Italy.

And then, it’s not a joke: Suzuki is going to make flying cars.

The small Japanese brand is however not particularly famous for high-tech. But, Suzuki she signed a partnership with SkyDrive, a compatriot who conducted her successful test flights of flying cars. The two companies will work on their design and manufacture of these machines, but also on their marketing. And it will be in India in particular, which is the main market for Suzuki. In the meantime, note that SkyDrive has developed cargo drones. The company is currently working on the development of a compact two-seater electric flying car, intended for large-scale production. The goal is to launch an air taxi service during the 2025 World Expo which will take place in Osaka, Japan.
