In Briançonnet, in the Alpes-Maritimes, 30 hectares have already been covered in flames due to high winds and drought. On site, Sunday March 12, journalist Audrey Richier takes stock of the situation.
“The fire continues to progress on its right side just behind me, even if this night, its progress is much slower because the wind has died down. Excellent news for the health of our firefighters and civil security soldiers who are on the ground“, reports journalist Audrey Richier, duplex from Briançonnet (Alpes-Maritimes), Sunday March 12. “Since this morning, they have been trying to approach the flames but the terrain is particularly rugged.”she explains.
No homes threatened
“A few minutes ago, two Canadairs made drops on particularly inaccessible areas on the ground“, continues the journalist. The fire, which has already ravaged some thirty hectares of vegetation, does not threaten any dwelling. The first village is about five kilometers from the flames.
