Montreal Alouettes fullback Christophe Normand has been arrested by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), on charges of luring a teenage girl for sexual purposes.
This was reported by the daily “La Voix de l’Est” on Thursday.
The 30-year-old athlete communicated with a teenager under the age of 16 “by a means of telecommunication” with the intention of committing an act of a sexual nature, according to the lawsuit.
The alleged facts occurred on August 9 in Bromont, and the two charges against Normand were filed summarily at the Granby courthouse. He pleaded not guilty.
He was arrested by the SQ at the start of the day, Thursday, and appeared by videoconference in Waterloo. The Bromont native was released on conditions.
