almost the entire department now in crisis

The rain of the last few days has not changed anything: all of Drôme, or almost, is now in drought crisis, both for groundwater and watercourses. Only the Bièvre Liers Valloire basin on the border with the Isère remains at the alert level for its groundwater; the downstream basin of the Rhône is still not subject to restrictions. Everywhere else, the use of water is limited to the strict minimum for individuals, businesses and local authorities. Specific rules are applied for farmers. Discover the prohibitions:

The Prefect of the Drôme invites the mayors to mobilize their municipal police and their country guards in order to participate fully in the controls of water use. Anyone contravening the restrictions provided for by the “drought” prefectural decrees is exposed to a 5th class fine (up to 1500 €).
