Train traffic on the South-East axis will be “almost normal” Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 December, announces the SNCF after the lifting of the strike notice on Thursday 16 December by the CGT and SUD-Rail. The Unsa had already lifted hers the day before. On the other hand, traffic will remain very disrupted this Friday, December 17, with about one TGV Sud-Est in two announced on this axis between Paris, Lyon, the Alps, Marseille and the Côte d’Azur.
According to the management of the SNCF, contacted on Wednesday December 15 by franceinfo, 50,000 travelers will be affected by the disturbances on Friday. The management provides exceptional compensation for those who will see their train canceled. They will be able to be reimbursed for 100% of the price of the ticket and will have a voucher for 100% of the price of the ticket, i.e. a reimbursement of 200%.
The unions demanded an improvement in their working conditions, salary increases, hiring and a “Covid bonus”. This notice ran from Friday December 17 to Sunday December 19, for the first weekend of Christmas vacation departures, which angered many users.
