30 years of love and nothing has changed since the first day… or almost. Indeed, when Azucena met Florent Pagny for the first time, she was far from imagining that she was going to live a fairy tale. It must be said that the 61-year-old artist, who has been fighting lung cancer since the beginning of 2022, was not really romantic when he met the chosen one of his heart. Or rather, was very clumsy.
In any case, this is what Azucena said, smiling, when she appeared in the documentary devoted to her companion on January 1 on TF1 : Florent Pagny a free man. This revealed the place of their first meeting and all that “accompanied” the singer, who did not make him dream at the time.

“I find myself at a party and Florent arrives. He had lots of very strange accessories for me at that time, an unlikely dog, it was the first time I had seen an all-white bull terrier […] and a sublime but tuned car”, she recalls before continuing: “I thought, ‘Who can do such a thing?’ I was told, “Ah, it’s Pagny.” “And the dog?” “Ah, it’s Pagny.” Who’s Pagny?” When I introduced myself and shook his hand, he pulled it away. I said to myself, who is this guy who is pulling my hand? ‘It’s Pagny’. He had it all wrong in fact.”
If Azucena did not fall in love immediately, this was not the case for the one who has accompanied her on a daily basis for 30 years now. Indeed, Florent Pagny immediately fell in love with his muse. “Gently, he was flirting with me but I didn’t know it was flirting… I thought it was a bit aggressive”she revealed before remembering that he “always had weird jokes or almost aggressive words”. “I was told that he was trying to flirt with me clumsily. And then I realized that it was clumsiness and shyness”, she explains later. Eventually, Azucena found this “technical” “nice” and his gaze “changed towards him”: “I discovered a superb person who really seduced me.”
