The new owners of the chocolatier Cémoi met the members of the Chamber of Commerce of Perpignan this Wednesday, June 22. A meeting at the initiative of Laurent Gauze, President of the CCI: “It is important, vis-à-vis a new owner, to come and greet him, to introduce himself”.
During this meeting, the Chamber of Commerce made a point of presenting to the managers of Sweet Products “the assets of the territory, and in particular Port-Vendres, with a supply that must be made even more on cocoa”. For his part, the owner, Fons Walder, would have suggested making the headquarters of Cémoi the headquarters of Sweet Products in France. “It is the European number one in the exploitation of cocoa”recalls Laurent Gauze.
The unions, they denounce a still “tense” climate. The employees still have no news of a possible redundancy plan. Last April, rumors had circulated. The mayor of Perpignan, Louis Aliot had claimed to be aware of the loss of 148 jobs. Information that has never been confirmed or denied by the new owner.
