“Almost”, a dramatic comedy about friendship and how others view disability

“We are not born a man, we become one”, such is the mantra of the film “Almost” which puts Alexandre Jollien in front of the camera for the first time. The latter developed with Bernard Campan a friendship that has lasted for many years now. Making a film together could have been risky, but like in life, they were complementary.

“Almost” tells the story of 2 men. The first Louis, played by Bernard Campan, is the director of a funeral home. A hardened bachelor, at 58 he devoted himself entirely to his profession. The second, played by Alexandre Jollien, is called Igor. Cerebral palsy (CMI) is a sharp mind in a disabled body. At 40, he delivers organic vegetables on his tricycle.

One day, they take the road, from Lausanne to the south of France, in a hearse. They know each other little, have little in common, or so they think…
