We are both jealous of what sets us apart.” Emmanuel Macron praised the friendship between France and the United States, Saturday June 8, during a state dinner at the Elysée by receiving American President Joe Biden and his wife Jill.

“More than ever, you remain our best allies”launched the French president. “Allies we are, and allies we will remain. And these are the values ​​which, eight decades later, continue to unite us”, he added. The state visit of the American president couple allows, according to Emmanuel Macron, to “celebrate the intact vitality of our alliance, and this very unique relationship which binds our two nations, and our love, one and the other, for freedom”.

American Presidents Joe Biden and French Presidents Emmanuel Macron have displayed their unity of views in the face of transatlantic challenges, starting with the war in Ukraine, and the specter of a possible return of Donald Trump. “We stand firmly alongside our allies, France. I repeat, we will not shy away”insisted Joe Biden during a statement alongside his counterpart at the Elysée.
