Allegations of misconduct | Christian Horner hopes Red Bull investigation concludes ‘as soon as possible’

(Aş Şakhīr) Red Bull team principal Christian Horner said on Thursday he hopes the investigation he is facing into allegations of misconduct will end “as soon as possible”, dawn of the new Formula 1 season.

The team’s parent company, Red Bull, launched an investigation on February 5 following allegations of misconduct by a team employee. Horner denied wrongdoing and remained in office. The timelines for the conclusion of the investigation are still unknown.

“Everyone would like the conclusion (of the investigation) to come as soon as possible, but I cannot comment on an ongoing process,” said Horner, on the occasion of the second day of winter testing in Bahrain. . The season will begin next week at the same venue, as part of the Bahrain F1 Grand Prix.

F1 and its umbrella organization, the FIA, have already issued statements calling for a rapid conclusion to the investigation. McLaren boss Zak Brown said Thursday that he hopes the investigation “is as transparent as possible”, echoing comments made the day before by Mercedes boss Toto Wolff.

On track, the morning practice session was cut short after Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc and Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton hit a poorly installed manhole cover on a corner. Debris was therefore found everywhere on the track, forcing the marshals to carry out a careful inspection of the route.
