The Marseillais find their sidewalks on Wednesday evening. “Back to normal” announces the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis. All the garbage, bins and waste accumulated in the city since the start of the garbage collectors’ strike have been picked up.
10,534 tonnes of additional waste
“Actions have been carried out throughout the city to clean up each district, each district, each street and the surroundings of the beaches of the Marseille coast.“explains the Metropolis. Dump trucks with grapples in particular have been mobilized since they make it possible to considerably increase the number of bins collected during each round. Since the end of the garbage collectors’ strike on February 2, a total of 10,534 tonnes of additional waste have therefore been collected, in addition to the quantity usually collected.
The Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis thanks its agents for their “very strong mobilization, but also the volunteers and the reinforcement of the city of Marseille“.
