Viewers have known him best for his judging roles on shows such as “Dance with the stars” Or “France has an unbelievable talent”. But before being a TV man, Patrick Dupond is above all one of the greatest French dancers. It is with great sadness that the community learned of his disappearance on March 5, 2021. The artist was 61 years old when he lost his fight against lung cancer…
In 1980, he was named star dancer at the Opéra Nationale de Paris in 1980. And was the victim of a serious car accident in January 2000. An accident that almost cost him his legs. Indeed, without a long period of rehabilitation, Patrick Dupond would probably never have been able to walk again, which almost deprived him of the use of his legs. He had then begun a very long period of rehabilitation which allowed him to go back on stage, in 2001, in the musical comedy L’air de Paris.

Vanessa Paradis, on her 31 to pay tribute to Patrick Dupond
To pay tribute to this immense artist, the Ballet de l’Opéra national de Paris organized an evening event on Tuesday February 21, which will end on Thursday February 23. Three evenings in which the guests will be able to attend a breathtaking show. A ballet that was very close to the heart of Patrick Dupond as explained by the Paris Opera on its site. “Through this ballet which was close to his heart, and which he often programmed as director of the Company, the Paris Opera pays tribute to this immense figure of dance”indicated in particular the French opera and ballet company.
For the first tribute evening, many artists responded. Eddy De Pretto, Zita Hanrot, Panayotis Pascot, or even Anamaria Vartolemei were all dressed in black. Vanessa Paradis, meanwhile, probably surprised when she appeared in a more colorful dress than the others, which however sublimated her, as on every red carpet she walks.
