Lawyers Muriel Ouaknine-Melki and Oudy Bloch spoke on Saturday on the set of “12/13 info”. Both are also heads of the European Jewish Organization.
Muriel Ouaknine-Melki and Oudy Bloch, lawyers for the 12-year-old girl raped in Courbevoie (Hauts-de-Seine), were the guests of “12/13 info” on the franceinfo channel, Saturday June 22. “This 12 year old child is in bad shape. It couldn’t be any other way given what she’s been through. She suffered the worst horrors in this abandoned building“, reports Oudy Bloch, who recalls that his client was “kidnapped, kidnapped, insulted, humiliated, beaten, raped”.
“She was subjected to an extortion request. All the horrors she could suffer, she suffered them. And all the clichés of this anti-Semitic crime (…) are also brought together. So she’s doing badly, and the family is doing badly too.”he continues.
The family did not wish to take part in the support rallies in Courbevoie. “This is a family who is in a state of shock, who are stunned by the terrible acts that their little one suffered., explains Muriel Ouaknine-Melki. Although “very sensitive to all the testimonies and all the support that she was able to learn about through the media”for now, “the family’s place is alongside the child”.
Muriel Ouaknine-Melki denounces the anti-Semitic nature of the rape: “This child was affected because she was Jewish, was humiliated, beaten, raped, insulted, kidnapped, ransomed because she was Jewish, and because she had hidden it”.
