Ruidíaz doubled their lead after Carles Gil earned a penalty.

Kevin Álvarez scored the goal for the Liga MX outfit with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area.

CF Montreal central defender Kamal Miller started the match for MLS. Like most players, he played a half. Miller was the only representative of a Canadian team at the event.

It was the second edition of this all-star format between the Canadian-American and Mexican championships. Last year, MLS prevailed 1-1 (3-2 pens) after a penalty session.
