Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois has the confidence of the entire Quebec Solidaire (QS) caucus, but “all possibilities” are on the table.
This is what elected officials from the left party said Wednesday morning in the National Assembly.
The resignation on Monday of co-spokesperson Émilise Lessard-Therrien after only a few months in office caused a lot of commotion, the latter having mentioned in a letter published Monday the influence of the other co-spokesperson, Mr. Nadeau-Dubois, on the leadership of the party.
After taking a day of reflection on Tuesday, Mr. Nadeau-Dubois arrived at his caucus meeting on Wednesday morning flanked by his colleagues Manon Massé, Guillaume Cliche-Rivard and Alejandra Zaga Mendez.
He said he wanted to meet with his caucus first before speaking to the press, but also claimed, “I feel better today.”
In the press scrum, MP Andrés Fontecilla affirmed that no scenario has been ruled out.
“We have a lot of discussions, we discuss all the possibilities,” he said.
His colleague Alexandre Leduc, for his part, declared that the entire caucus supported Mr. Nadeau-Dubois.
