The managing director of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Bill Kramer, confirmed to the American magazine on Tuesday variety that all 23 Oscar-winning categories will be included in the live stream next March.
By 2022, eight categories (Original Music, Makeup and Hair, Documentary Short, Film Editing, Production Design, Animated Short, Live Action Short and Sound) had been cut from television transmission, causing outrage in the film industry.
“We are committed to having a show that celebrates artisans, the arts and sciences and the collaborative nature of filmmaking. That’s really the Academy’s mission, and I’m hopeful that we can make a show that celebrates all of the components of filmmaking in an entertaining and engaging way,” Bill Kramer told variety.
Jimmy Kimmel will be hosting for the third time.
The 95e The Oscars ceremony will take place on March 12, live from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. The ceremony will be broadcast live on ABC and in more than 200 territories around the world.
