It is in the 10th arrondissement that Alice grew up and then lived in Paris : Canal St Martin, Place de la République, Rive Gauche, Panthéon and Jardin du Luxembourg were an integral part of his daily life. Among its favorite neighborhoods, we also find the Goutte D’Or district.
After the attacks of November 2015, Alice chose to leave the French capital despite her love for the city. Paris, now it’s far for Alice, lastingly marked by these trials of which she claims to be a direct victim.
European in soul and in life (her companion is Polish), so she moved to Edinburgh motivated by the need to be in a culturally and architecturally rich city. And Contrary to popular belief, it does not always rain and it is not as cold as you think. She rediscovers aspects of Paris that she has known in Edinburgh. She then moved 30 minutes away to Dunfermline, one of the ancient capitals of Scotland.
Our history and architecture buff is served in Scotland where the historical load is very strong, especially with the castles. We believe a lot in fairies, elves, spirits. Communities of druids still exercise. Ghost stories are always told. Oral culture is still very strong. Far from being a tourist trap, these stories are still passed down from family to family.
There are in Scotland a real love for France, far from the clichés of the arrogant Parisian who can spread throughout the world. a very strong link between the 2 countries, in particular through a thousand-year-old political pact “The Old Alliance” where the French and the Scots lend a hand. It was therefore a very warm welcome that Alice received when she arrived.
