American comedian and actress Alexandra Wong will be one of the headliners of the Just For Laughs festival, which will take place from July 14 to 29, JFL management announced Thursday.
The movie star Beef (streaming on Netflix), well known for its numbers of stand-up In Baby Cobra (2016), Hard Knock Wife (2018) and Don Wong (2022), will perform at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier at Place des Arts on July 26.
This is the third time she has come to Montreal since being crowned “new face” of humor at JFL in 2011.
The direction of the festival took the opportunity to unveil some other names of humor that will be present this summer. Among them, note the presence of Russell Peters, who will host four galas. The Toronto-born comedian’s latest tour, The Deported World Tourpremiered on Amazon Prime Video last January.
Jonathan Van Ness, Jack Whitehall, Anthony Jeselnik, Kurtis Conner, Daniel Sloss, Carlos Ballarta and Tom Papa are also among the guests of this 41e festival. More announcements will follow in the coming weeks.
