The Algerian Ambassador to the UN Amar Bendjama announced that his country would circulate to the other members of the Council a “short text, a clear text, to stop the massacre in Rafah”. In this draft resolution, the Council “decides that Israel, the powerful occupier, must immediately stop its military offensive and all other actions in Rafah”. It also requires “an immediate ceasefire respected by all parties” And “the unconditional release of all hostages”.

The Israeli army continues its strikes on Rafah. In the early hours of Wednesday, an AFP team reported strikes on Rafah. Witnesses saw Israeli tanks in different areas of this city, which has become the new focus of the war between Israel and Hamas. “People are staying in their homes for the moment because anyone who moves is targeted by Israeli drone fire”said a resident of Rafah, Abdel Khatib.

A new deadly strike on a displaced persons camp. The Civil Defense of the Gaza Strip announced the death of 21 people in an Israeli strike on a camp for displaced people in the south of the Palestinian territory, two days after a similar bombardment in Rafah which provoked international outrage.
