Alfa Romeo Giulia Speciale: 15 units in Montreal Green exclusive to Canada

Alfa Romeo is taking advantage of the Canadian F1 Grand Prix weekend to unveil a limited edition of its Giulia compact sedan. Fifteen examples will be produced, only for Canada and all painted in Montreal Green, an iconic color previously reserved for the Quadrifoglio performance version.

The Giulia Speciale is based on the Veloce version with all-wheel drive and adds the adaptive suspension of the Quadrifoglio, which adjusts the damping in real time in order to optimize road holding, sometimes comfort. This is done taking into account of course the driving mode chosen via the wheel on the console.

Besides the Montreal Green, the exterior of the car stands out with a black finish for the badging, grille and mirror caps. The 19-inch wheels partially conceal yellow painted brake calipers.

As for the interior, there are red stitching on the steering wheel, dashboard, central armrest, gear lever and the top of the doors, carbon fiber inserts on several surfaces, leather sport seats black and a Harman Kardon sound system.

Nothing changes on the engine side compared to the Veloce version, however. The Giulia Speciale makes good use of the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that develops 280 horsepower and 306 lb-ft of torque through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 5.1 seconds.

“Alfa Romeo and the City of Montreal have a proud relationship and the new Giulia Speciale model helps to enhance this relationship by offering consumers an unparalleled driving experience and an attractive look unique in Canada,” said Larry Dominique, CEO of Alfa Romeo brand.

Pricing for the 2022 Alfa Romeo Giulia Speciale is set at $71,995, plus freight and delivery charges of $2,095. While waiting for the 15 copies to start arriving at the marque’s dealerships later this month, it is possible to admire it as part of the Formula Peel event which takes place in Montreal until Sunday.
