The artist and circus director Alexis Grüss, aged 79, died of “heart attack” in Paris, Saturday April 6, France Télévisions learned from the eponymous circus, confirming information from Figaro and World.

A figure in the circus world, like other members of his family, Alexis Grüss founded the Cirque à l’Ancienne in 1974, with his wife Gipsy, a member of another very famous family in the sector, the Bougliones. This creation became the National Circus in 1982, with a central place given to horses in the numbers appearing in this show.
