Yes, “Fort Boyard” will indeed be broadcast on France 2 this summer. But many changes have been made. And we are not talking here about new characters or new teams that will land on the Fort. No, we are indeed referring to the negative sides of the changes, driven by inflation. Indeed, our colleagues from TV Magazine tell us that the game hosted by Olivier Minne, which returns for its 34th season on Saturday July 1, 2023, had to revise its ambitions… downwards.
The first team formed by Nathalie Péchalat, Frédérick Bousquet, Anne Sila, Paul de Saint-Sernin, Yoann Huget and Robert Pirès, will be entitled to its share of trials. However, Alexia Laroche-Joubert would have liked to bring some novelties but had to face inflation. “We took inflation in the face!”loose at TV Magazine the producer of Aventure Line Productions before continuing: “The program obviously costs money which is amortized over a certain number of emissions. But the problem is that there are a lot of different trades that use a lot of materials”.

“Fort Boyard” victim of inflation
According to our colleagues, the increase can amount to between 10 and 25% and this varies according to the positions and the expenses. Between the expenses to charter the teams, the personnel who work on the Fort also costs money: “120 people work on the fort, which must be fed, and the price of meals has increased by about 15%”. “We also have to house the personalities in hotels whose prices have increased… At the end of the shoot, that’s huge amounts!”also notes Antoine Weber, executive producer of the show.
Alexia Laroche-Joubert however asked for “help” from France Télévisions… without success. “France Télévisions has not offset these increases! Probably they cannot do it for all productions, but it is true that when you make an “outdoor” program which requires very specific technical means and materials, we took a slap!”she lamented, aware, despite everything, that the group would have helped if it had had the possibility and especially the means.
The results ? The Fort remained open for a shorter period in order to limit costs. In addition, this season will have two fewer events compared to previous years for Olivier Minne and his teams.
