Anze Kopitar had one goal and one assist, Carl Grundstrom was the Kings’ other scorer and Jonathan Quick made 22 saves in the win. This is the first time this season that the Kings have managed to win two games in a row. The day before, they had defeated the Canadian 5-2.

Rasmus Asplund and Victor Olofsson scored for the Sabers, while Dustin Tokarski blocked 31 shots. This is the Sabers’ first loss this season against a Western Conference team.

Iafallo only had to drive the puck into the net following a skilful pass from Tobias Bjornfot straight into the box, just in front of the goalkeeper zone. The goal allowed him to stretch his streak in a row to three with at least one point. He had three goals and two assists in three games.

Earlier in the period, Kopitar tied 2-2 with his 100e career power play goal.

Buffalo escaped the game after taking a 2-0 lead. Asplund opened the shorthanded score early in the second period. Olofsson doubled the lead just over four minutes later in a two-on-one descent. Grundstrom responded a minute later to bring the Kings back into the game before the end of the period.

Kopitar already has four more-point games in eight games this season.
