After storm Ciaran, the west coast of France is hit by Domingos. Thirteen departments are on orange alert.

With the first assaults of the Domingos storm, the Atlantic Ocean is unleashed, and the first violent gusts hit the southwest, Saturday November 4. In the port of La Rochelle (Charente-Maritime), it is possible to see the beginnings of a restless night to come. Some try one last exit, before returning to shelter. “In an hour, we’ll be home,” notes a local resident. Further on, a boater decided to stay moored in the port. He prepared for everything for the night.

The residents are ready

The storm is feared as far as Lacanau (Gironde). On the Atlantic coast, everyone bundles up to face the violent winds, like a retiree met by the France 2 teams. 300 meters further on, it is forbidden to access the beach, and the police make sure of it. . At their side, rescuers kept watch to ensure that the curious observed the spectacle from afar, without getting too close.
