Alert at Collège de la Cité in Ottawa

Students and faculty at two Collège de la Cité campuses in Ottawa were confined early Friday morning due to threats.

This is what the establishment wrote on its Facebook page.

“We are all in lockdown. We were made aware that this was not a practice. We must not go near the windows and [on doit] stay hidden. These are the instructions we received. […] We’ve been confined for more than an hour, ”said Victoria Gagné, a journalism student.

Ottawa police were reportedly called to Aviation Parkway around 10:25 a.m. Friday morning, she tweeted. The nature of the threats has not yet been specified.

The confinement was however lifted around 1:30 p.m., when the establishment asked the students to leave the establishment in peace, underlined the student. No one will also be allowed in for the rest of the day.

The alert affected the Ottawa and Orleans campuses.
