Aldebert sets fire to the Théâtre de la Mer in Sète with two concerts for the benefit of sick children

Mischievous, tender, committed, funny, there are plenty of adjectives to define the singer Aldbert. To this (non-exhaustive) list, we can undoubtedly add generous.

Invited by the Astrid-MRPCI association, which works with families of children with rare childhood cardio-pulmonary diseases, the musician gave two concerts at the Sea Theater in Sète. A joy for the 2300 fans who came to watch the show. As usual, the Besançon singer won the hearts of children and parents. “It’s the bonus of coming on vacation, doing an Aldebert concert and participating in a good cause”, rejoices a mother.

The Astrid – Maladies Rares Cardio-Pulmonaires Infantiles (MRCPI) association was created in 2010 by Xavier Giner following the death of his three-year-old granddaughter suffering from lung disease. The purpose of this association is to organize events with a view to promoting research, supporting the families of sick children and informing the public about the various childhood lung diseases.

The actions aim to raise funds to ease the daily lives of children hospitalized in the pediatric department of Montpellier University Hospital. “We have to try to get them out of there, allow them to have windows of happiness and so we practice giving them that and we practice making the service warmer as well as for the staff”, explains Xavier Giner, founder and president of the Astrid MRCPI association.

Part of the proceeds from the Aldebert concert will be donated to the Astrid association. “When we can mobilize we do it. We support associations that affect sick children”, assures the singer to France3 during an interview before the concert. Thanks to these two concerts, the association should collect at least 3000 euros.

For more than ten years, Aldebert has addressed all themes related to childhood without censorship. Homoparenthood, death, the environment, animal abuse, fear of the dark, schoolthemes not always consensual that he puts to music with intelligence and humour. “I don’t at all want to be a child again, nor to start the story over again, I’m very happy to be an adult, but I like to keep things from childhood, childhood values, the energy, enthusiasm, curiosity”, he assures.

The fourth installment of childishness, released in August 2021, is already on a loop in the family cars, because with his polished lyrics and his rather rock melodies, Aldebert makes everyone agree. So much so that his supercharged albums and concerts are shared by all generations: children, parents and grandparents.

Aldebert is going on a major tour with his Enfantillages 4 from the fall of 2022
