It has been almost a year since Prince Jacques and his twin sister Princess Gabriella have to deal with the interminable absence of their mother… Still convalescing, Princess Charlene of Monaco is still in a specialized center in Switzerland, from where she is slowly recovering from a serious ENT infection that appeared in March 2021, while she was on a conservation mission in South Africa (her country of origin). While waiting for her return, her husband Prince Albert continues to occupy their two little darlings.
On Sunday February 27, the sovereign made another remarkable appearance in the stands of the Stade Louis II in Monaco. To attend the Ligue 1 Uber Eats match between the team of the principality and that of Reims, the prince was accompanied by his two children (see slideshow). Caps in AS Monaco colors on their heads, Jacques and Gabriella missed nothing of the match from the front row of the stands. Meeting which unfortunately ended in a defeat for the Monegasques. Already on February 25, in this same stadium, the twins had played the cheerleaders during a Euroleague basketball match between Roca Team and Turkish club Fenerbahce.
Football, basketball, but also rugby and Formula 1… Very often alongside their dad during sporting events, Jacques and Gabriella can only inherit his passion for competition! Remember that the sovereign is also a black belt in judo, Olympic bobsleigh champion and member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for more than 35 years… To this sporting CV, is added that of their mother Charlene, former Olympic champion in swimming… It’s up to Jacques and Gabriella to choose their favorite sport, unless they are – like their father – the jack-of-all-trades type!
