Alaphilippe and Roglic headliners on February 26 and 27

The double world champion Julian Alaphilippe and the Slovenian Primoz Roglic, winner of the last Vuelta, will be the two main headliners of the Boucles Drôme Ardèche on February 26 and 27. The organizer presented this Wednesday the routes of the two events.

This is a novelty for this 2022 edition. It is the town of Etoile-sur-Rhône which will be the hub of the Drôme Classic instead of Livron-sur-Drôme which hosted the event for several years. .

Unchanged route for the Ardèche Classic

Guilherand-Granges will still be at the heart of the event on February 26th on a 168km500 route with 3100m of elevation gain.

Roglic, Olympic time trial championwill travel to the Rhône Valley with his Danish teammate Jonas Vingegaard, second in the last Tour de France.

The Colombian Nairo Quintana (Arkea-Samsic), the French Benoît Cosnefroy (AG2R Citroën), Guillaume Martin (Cofidis), Warren Barguil (Arkea-Samsic) and the Dutchman Wilco Kelderman (Bora) will be the other notable leaders in this 22nd edition unveiled in Etoile-sur-Rhône (Drôme), which will be the new arrival site of the Drôme Classic, with a final uphill (1500 m at 6% average).

Twenty-two teams including eleven classified WorldTour (AG2R Citroën, Astana, Bora, Cofidis, Groupama-FDJ, Intermarché, Jumbo, Lotto, Quick-Step, Trek, UAE), make up the field expected for the two races.
