Music can sometimes become a real family story. This is the case of Alain Souchon who will soon celebrate his 80th birthday, accompanied by his sons Pierre and Charles. A tour in the form of a transmission for the series “Culte!” from Saturday April 27.

Alain Souchon, troubadour singer, sings about everyday love with sweet and childish words. At the beginning of the 1970s, his first 45s were flops. He is the star of fairs and galas. In need of success, he decides to write for popular singers. He himself recorded a song composed for Frédéric François and got noticed. With Laurent Voulzy, he won dozens of successes and nine Victoires de la Musique.

A pedestal

With Pierre and Charles Souchon, the dynasty grew: with their father they composed the album Fifties Souls. His family finds its roots in a tragedy. “His dad died in a car accident and he was the only one who had nothing. (…) All his life, he wanted a solid family base”, explains Valérie Alarno, author of Souchon, une vie en song. It is with and for them that he returns to the stage, to celebrate his 80th birthday on May 27.
