Alain Bernard talks about his relationship with his wife Faustine: ‘She learned to accept me’

Several years after his retirement from sport, Alain Bernard continues to be talked about with the release of his autobiography, My Olympic destiny. A book in which he recounts his life in the pools, he who marked French swimming by becoming an Olympic gold medalist twice. After a very successful career that ended in 2012, he was more discreet, but he decided to talk about his extraordinary life for the first time. A book in which he notably reveals his short romance with the icon of his sport, Laure Manaudou. A brief but significant relationship for the blue-eyed colossus who still retains some resentment against Jérémy Frérot’s companion.

Regrets mitigated by his meeting in 2017 with the beautiful Faustine, the one who has shared his life for almost six years. The two lovers were married on August 21, 2020 to concretize this fusional love if we are to believe Alain Bernard. “We fell into each other’s arms and We haven’t left each other for the past six years. It is at the same time recent and long”, confided the swimming champion in the program The keys of a life on South Radio.

We learned to discover each other and she learned to accept me too

After finding each other thanks to dating apps, three years after their first interaction, Alain Bernard and Faustine have been spinning perfect love for six years, despite the sometimes complicated character of the former swimmer. “We learned to discover each other and she learned to accept me too, because I am not necessarily very easy to live with on a daily basis. I have a lot of trips, a lot of topics of conversation…”, he says in an interview.

Today, everything is going well between Alain Bernard and Faustine as he explains and the beautiful blonde is also very present in his everyday life. “She accompanies me a lot and advises me a lot too so I owe her a lot”, he concludes
