While the toll still shows eight dead so far in Akwesasne, authorities confirmed on Saturday the identity of the woman of Romanian origin found dead earlier this week.

This is Cristina (Monalisa) Zenaida Iordache, 28 years old. She and her partner Florin Iordache had tried to cross the Canada-US border with their two children Evelyn, 3, and Eylen, 1. The entire family was decimated in this tragedy.
The other four bodies found, those of four Indian nationals, have been identified, but not confirmed, as authorities are still trying to contact relatives of the deceased.
