AKA, the most watched French film on Netflix

(Paris) The action feature film A.K.A.starring Éric Cantona, has become the most viewed French film on Netflix worldwide, the platform announced on Wednesday.




A.K.A. has totaled 81.85 million hours of viewing in ten days since it was posted on the platform on April 28, according to figures published by Netflix.

Directed by Morgan S. Dalibert, A.K.A. tells the story of an agent (played by Alban Lenoir) infiltrated into a mafia organization. It is run by a godfather embodied by Éric Cantona, the former international footballer who has since embarked on a career as an actor.

A.K.A. ahead far from the ring road (with Omar Sy), which was the most viewed French film on Netflix so far. Posted in May 2022, far from the ring road accumulated 78.63 million hours of viewing during its first 28 days of broadcast (period used by Netflix to establish its rankings).

All nationalities combined, A.K.A. topped the most-watched movies worldwide on Netflix for the second week in a row, with 49.3 million hours in the week of 1 aloneer to May 7.

It is currently 7e in the ranking of the most viewed non-English language films in history on the platform, and will still approach the top.

The first is the Norwegian film Trollwhich totals 155.56 million hours viewed, but will no longer progress, since it was put online in December and the counter is stopped after 28 days.

If we take English-language films into account, these are American feature films Red Notice (2021) and Don’t Look Up (2021) which are first in this ranking, with respectively 364 and 359 million hours of viewing during their first 28 days of broadcast.

These rankings have been compiled by Netflix since 2021.
