The Isle of Beauty is back in the elite of French football. Eight years after their last stint, AC Ajaccio will return to Ligue 1 next season. Second at the end of the 38 days of Ligue 2, the Corsicans hung the second direct ticket for the elite by beating the Toulouse champions (1-0), already assured of the title before kick-off, Saturday May 14.
Three teams will compete for the right to face the 18th in Ligue 1, in a round-trip barrage. Sochaux (5th) will first challenge Paris FC (4th) on Tuesday at the Charléty stadium.
