On Sunday, after challenging a referee’s decision after the 90th minute, Jean-Marc Furlan sent middle fingers to Clermont supporters, explaining at a press conference that he had “been insulted”. Expelled from the bench, he then redid the middle fingers on entering the locker room. Monday morning, the AJ Auxerre club issued a press release condemning Jean-Marc Furlan’s gesture “an inappropriate attitude, which the club disapproves of and which does not correspond to the values of respect and fair play that have always been advocated and transmitted by AJA. We apologize to the Clermont public and to our supporters”.
In the standings, AJ Auxerre is struggling after six games without a win, so five defeats.
