After three consecutive victories in Ligue 2, Auxerre footballers are entering the Coupe de France. They face Limonest Dardilly Saint-Didier for the 7th round of the competition.
Avoid the trap
On paper this encounter is within reach of AJA footballers, but they must avoid falling into the trap. Because the men of Jean-Marc Furlan have often faltered in recent years when they have faced clubs smaller than them. In 2018, the Ajaïstes fell at home against a national club, Les Herbiers, winners 3 to 0. A year later, the Auxerrois gave in to the Moselle club of Hombourg-Haut, team of Regional 3, eighth level national. The Mosellans then brought out Jean-Marc Furlan’s men by beating them 2-1.
This Saturday evening, the AJA faces a club which plays three divisions below it, in National 3. A division in which Angoulême played three years ago, when the Charentais club eliminated the icaunnais players, in the 7th round of the Coupe de France.
