The appeal trial of the Rio-Paris flight crash, which killed 228 people in 2009, will be held “from September 29 to November 27, 2025”announced the Paris Court of Appeal on Friday, September 20. On April 17, 2023, the Paris Criminal Court had acquitted the manufacturer Airbus and the airline Air France, prosecuted for involuntary manslaughter, on criminal grounds, while recognizing their civil liability.

The Paris Criminal Court considered that if “imprudence” And “negligence” had been committed, “no certain causal link” had not “could be demonstrated” with the deadliest accident in the history of French airlines. On June 1, 2009, the crash of flight AF447 resulted in the death of 216 passengers and 12 crew members.

The public prosecutor’s office then decided to appeal this decision.
