The Montreal airline announced on Monday that it would gradually resume offering flights to a total of 25 European destinations, including the six it currently serves, starting in April.

At the height of summer, Air Transat will operate 250 flights per week on 69 direct routes.

The increase follows an easing of pandemic restrictions targeting the travel sector.

Transat’s chief sales and marketing officer, Joseph Adamo, said the outlook for the summer season is positive as the company prepares to meet significant latent demand.

The increase in demand has also enabled the company to increase its capacity on certain key routes by the end of the winter season, added Mr. Adamo.
