Air Transat partners with WeChalet for in-kind accommodations

Air Transat now offers travelers who buy a plane ticket to Quebec to rent a property on the WeChalet rental platform, under a partnership between the two Quebec companies.

For WeChalet, whose inventory now reaches more than 1,500 properties, this agreement will allow all regions of Quebec to benefit from the resumption of cross-border tourism. “We are targeting Canadians and Americans, but especially the French who arrive here and want to discover the four corners of Quebec “, explains in an interview Dany Papineau, president of WeChalet.

Air Transat also benefits from this association, because it allows it to expand the accommodation offer to customers who wish to “discover the richness of Quebec’s nature all year long”. “The WeChalet accommodation options integrated into our website allow us to meet the needs of travelers who are looking for the calm of the countryside with ease,” said Joseph Adamo, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at Transat.

When purchasing a plane ticket on the Air Transat website, travelers will be invited to consult some offers from the WeChalet rental platform, where they can then complete a separate transaction to reserve their accommodation.

Towards a global offer

From 2023, WeChalet also plans to offer accommodation outside Quebec, notably in Whistler, then elsewhere in Canada. And in the world. “We have just returned from a trade mission to France, and there is great potential for us there,” explains Dany Papineau. Ultimately, we want to internationalize WeChalet, which will remain a Quebec company, but which will shine outside of Quebec. »

It is this desire for growth in particular that has enabled WeChalet to attract the attention of Air Transat, adds Mr. Papineau, because according to him, the carrier would like to offer its customers accommodation in kind elsewhere in the world too.
