An Air Europa passenger plane, a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which was flying from Madrid, Spain, to Montevideo, Uruguay, was forced to make an emergency landing on Monday in Natal, Brazil, after several “strong turbulence” which left several people injured, the airline announced.

The Spanish company explained on the social network X that the device had “landed normally” in Natal and that “the injured were taken care of”. “A plane will take off from Madrid to pick up the passengers and continue the journey to Uruguay” she said. “We inform that our clients are moving to Recife, where they will stay and then travel to Montevideo. Natal was the airport that could accommodate passengers with medical needs most quickly”she added late Monday afternoon.

As Boeing is caught in a series of black spots due to problems with several models, fears about turbulence have returned to the forefront after the death of a person on board a Boeing 777 during a Singapore Airlines flight in May.

Three of the four models of commercial aircraft manufactured by the American group are the subject of an investigation by the American Civil Aviation Regulatory Agency.
