The images have gone viral on social media… Passengers on board an Air Caraïbes plane fought violently. A crew member was injured and three people are in custody.
A fight broke out mid-flight between several passengers. Insults, violent blows… Witnesses filmed the scene, stunned. Passengers finally come to the aid of the personnel of the plane who reach finally to subdue the three men. The cause of the fight is not yet known but a steward was injured during the brawl.
Air Caraïbes strongly condemns these unacceptable acts. “These are behaviors that are extremely rare and that we deplore. Our company obviously reserves the right to file a complaint against the individuals who are at the origin of these scuffles”, says Éric Michel, General Manager Antilles of Air Caraïbes. The other passengers arrived safely in Cayenne where the three men were arrested by the police. The prosecution takes the case serious because this jeopardizes safety on planes. The men face up to three years in prison.
