IA Medical has developed an application to help relatives of patients suffering from Alzheimer’s disease to navigate the aid systems, and to stimulate the patients’ memory. IA Medical launches a chatbot for caregivers.

A chatbot is a computer program that simulates and processes a human conversation (written or spoken), allowing humans to interact with digital terminals, as if they were communicating with a real person. This conversational robot draws on 15,000 references to offer practical orientation services and cognitive games.

France has between 8 and 11 million caregivers

Today, 8 to 11 million (non-professional) caregivers in France help an elderly person, a person with a disability or a chronic illness. Among them, 61% are workers, representing 15% of the active population. It is predicted that 1 in 4 workers will be caregivers in 2030.

The Alix chatbot

IA Medical has developed Alix, a chatbot intended to improve support for caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s disease. Thanks to a participatory approach, the project made it possible to understand the challenges faced by caregivers and social workers.

Alix’s objectives are to create a unified database of resources for Alzheimer’s patients, to develop an orientation tool for caregivers, and to measure the impact of caregivers’ burden.
