The event would have occurred around 6 p.m. at the intersection of boulevard Gouin Est and rue de Lille, on the edge of the Parc-nature de l’Île-de-la-Visitation.
Witnesses to the event reportedly saw two suspects fleeing on foot. However, the police have not located any victims or suspects, said spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), officer Caroline Chèvrefils.
“Casing casings were found on the ground, but it is not yet determined whether they come from a real firearm,” she said.
The scene is currently protected for investigators and forensic identification technicians.
No arrests have been made at this time.
