(Montreal) A 17-year-old young man was targeted late Tuesday evening while walking with his two friends in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough. Wounded by bullets, he was out of danger on Wednesday after having been initially in a condition deemed critical, “but stable”.
The victim and his companions were walking on Boulevard Laurentien at the corner of rue Périnault shortly before 10:45 p.m., according to the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM). An armed suspect approached them on foot and fired more shots.
The teenager was injured in the upper body, said agent Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for the SPVM.
The victim’s friends were not hit by the projectiles. They were encountered by investigators overnight.
There are no arrests in this case and the circumstances leading to this attempted murder are not yet known.
