Ahuntsic-Cartierville | Stones thrown at an SPVM patrol car

Police officers in patrol cars were targeted by stone fire while they were driving late Wednesday afternoon on Acadie Boulevard, in the borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville.

Officers from the Montreal Police Service reportedly felt several impacts on their vehicle before a window shattered, said a spokeswoman for the police force on Wednesday.

“Not knowing the nature of these impacts, the police had to take refuge for their safety,” she said.

An analysis of the scene then determined that the objects that were allegedly thrown at the vehicle appeared to be stones, but the SPVM still does not know how they were thrown.

No injuries or arrests were reported while a security perimeter was erected between Boulevard Henri-Bourassa West and the Highway 15 access road on Boulevard de l’Acadie.
