A man in his twenties known to be involved in numerous conflicts between street gangs died Tuesday evening after being shot several times.
Montreal police received the call around 8:20 p.m. According to initial information, a witness contacted the police after seeing a man on the ground on avenue du Parc at the corner of rue Legendre in the borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville. Several people told authorities they heard noises that sounded like gunshots.
The Montreal City Police Department is currently calling it an attempted murder. But according to our information, the victim died in hospital after resuscitation maneuvers.
According to our police sources, it is Christopher Shawn Jean Vilsaint, aged 28. Nicknamed “Dirty S” or “Shawn Pouch,” he was known to the police for his connections with several blue street gangs, including those in the city center.
