A hair salon in the borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville, in Montreal, was targeted by arsonists on Wednesday evening.
Emergency services were contacted around 6:45 p.m. for a fire in the business located on boulevard de l’Acadie, near rue Sauvé.
“According to the information obtained from the witnesses met, two suspects were seen spreading accelerant in front of the hairdressing salon and then fleeing when the police arrived,” said the spokesperson for the Police Department. of the City of Montreal (SPVM), Caroline Chèvrefils.
The blaze was quickly brought under control by the Montreal Fire Department (SIM), and the damage to the business was minor. No incendiary object was found on the spot, confirmed the SPVM.
The investigation was transferred to the arson section of the SPVM. Investigators from the police department will go to the scene of the event to better understand the circumstances of it.
