A 42-year-old man was targeted Wednesday evening while walking with a friend. Wounded by bullets, his life is out of danger, said the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

At around 8:10 p.m., a call was made to 911 for an injured person near the intersection of avenue Marcelin-Wilson and boulevard Henri-Bourrassa. A man shot in the lower body was taken to hospital.
According to information from the SPVM, the victim was walking with a friend on avenue Marcelin-Wilson, when a person in a car shot in his direction. The suspect fled on Boulevard Henri-Bourrassa. There are no arrests for the moment, said Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for the SPVM.
The scene was protected so that investigators could examine the scene. The witness of the event, the friend of the victim, will be met by the police, said Caroline Chèvrefils.
